InterActual's DVDKey Unlocks Hidden Online Content for The Return of the King

InterActual, a subsidiary of Sonic Solutions(R) and the leading provider of ROM and bonus feature technology for DVD, announced today that New Line Home Entertainment's The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King Special Extended DVD Edition is shipping with an embedded virtual key that unlocks a special website filled with exclusive online features. Called DVDKey(TM), the technology from InterActual grants viewers access to content online when the DVD is placed in a PC and played back using an InterActual-compatible DVD player.

The exciting online bonus features unlocked with The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King Special Extended DVD Edition include:

There are 4 dvds in this box. Which one has the special features or do all of them have it?

Perhaps like "Queen of the Stars", I tried all my RotK DVDs—none of them displayed InterActual content. I went to InterActual's website and found out that the FotR extended edition has InterActual features too—but they didn't work.

My Spider-Man DVD does show the InterActual features when I play it on my laptop PC, so I know my system works. But, when I play the LotR extended DVDs (bought as part of the Collector's DVD Gift Sets), the "InterActual Features" option in "View Content" is greyed-out and unavailable. This suggests to me that the extended edtion DVDs don't have InterActual content.

I've even tried InterActual's suggestions and downloaded the latest version of the Player; updated Macromedia's Flash and Shockwave Viewers; downloaded DirectX 9.0c; turned off my ZoneAlarm firewall (!), pop-up blockers, ad-blockers; made sure XP SP2's resident firewall was still shut down; downgraded the security level of my browser; stopped overriding automatic cookie handling and accepted all cookies—the lot.

Maybe InterActual will explain?

I've followed up this query with a Senior DVD Applications and Support Engineer
at InterActual Technologies, Inc. Despite press releases on the World Wide Web, e.g. http://vfxworld.com/?sa=adv&code=363...=news&id=12724, it seems only Region 1 DVDs have the InterActual content.

InterActual's website, DVDFile.com, says in the last section of the review, that any of the four discs will trigger the InterActual content http://www.dvdfile.com/software/revi...9/rotk_ee.html.
