Important Info Regarding Using Account Manger Options

If you have migrated your XBL account to the 360 you may soon find out something Xbox.com has not posted yet. Your account info is now accessible on the Xbox 360 only! If you try and look at the Account Manager on the regular Xbox you will get an error message. This is not a glitch Microsoft decided to use a new more secure encryption system for your credit card and other information.

We wanted to post this in case you try and see your subscription or any other information from the original Xbox and think there is something wrong. I spoke with a tier 2 tech at Microsoft and they thought this was posted on the site and are making sure it will be soon. So basically once you transfer your account to the 360 it acts as the main console. You will still be able to play and use your original Xbox system and live features you just will not be able to access your account information. We also did not want anyone to discover this and waste hours on hold. Just to find out there is nothing wrong.

I wanted to post regarding this.
When you turn on your old Xbox and go to the account options anything you try it will ask for the 4 digit Credit Card number and then try and proccess the info then a screen pops up says technical problems try again.
When I spoke with Xbox support they really had no Idea at first and told me I had to remigrate my account back to the old Xbox. I knew this was crazy since I had access to Xbox live. I waited and called last night and spoke with a tier 2 tech and told him about this. He said that Xbox.com should have this posted and they knew about it but at the time I first called they where swamped. He did say if I had a memory card to place my Xbox live account on it just in case anything happens to my old Xbox. He also said that if anyone loses their account on the old Xbox (seems funny saying old Xbox) That Xbox support can help you get it back on the new Xbox or the old one.

I also asked about if people have issues with their new 360 and have the flashing light error or other issues. He said they are now sending out for those who can't get one at the store or did not buy the extended wattanty by overnight a prepaid shipping box. You call they get the serial number and your info and will ship it overnight you then box it up call back Fed-Ex and they will pick it up again for free. In 3-5 days you will have a brand new 360. As always when sending a unit to Microsoft there is a chance you may not get your hard drive back of course chances are you wont since they will probably just ship a new unopen unit. He did say they have plenty of units to cover the small amount of people who seemed to have a defective unit and I was pretty impressed that they are handling any problems quickly. I also asked and was told that the numbers of problem 360 units are far less then the first Xbox.
If you have this problem call 1-800-4MY-XBOX hit 360 support and they will get your info be prepared for a wait on the line up to 1-2 hours or more.
It's not due to problems it's mainly people calling asking questions that are already in the book or on the website.

nice col.... yea MS seems to be "manning up" to any problems with the 360... since problems are gonna be had on a new technological device put on the market under such a short time people NEED to think of what steps they are doing to rectify situations before they speak ill of MS... this will set a bar for customer service for sony... but i somehow doubt they will do as well...

also you mentioned a harddrive... so by your statement it would be suggested that people pop their harddrives off prior to shipping to MS right?

No you would need to send everything including the hard drive back so that they can run all tests. Sorry but that has always been the case you may get it back or a new one of course this is not an issue so why sweat it now?
