My xbox came with thomson dvd drive, and i had for a year and half, and now is broken.
so i call 100-4myxbox, and they said to get it fix, it would cost about 108 dollars total.
I told him that i go to forums and people with thompson dvd drive have there xbox screwed up after like a year or so. He didnt even know what the heck i was talking about. I also said that people that had this problem shouldnt be charged 108 $ to get it fix, they should atleast charge half of that.
He said to me that people in forum (you guys) just make up all this after getting info from one person (what a liar), And parts used in xbox are quality parts.
He also told me that my dvd drive is worn out.
well, i said, is only been year and half ever since i had xbox, it shouldnt be worn out. And u told me that xbox use only quality, now thats not quality.
Guys guess what? i am not gonna pay for another xbox. Infact i am gonna fix my xbox out of microsoft expenses. How? Well, i am already getting my little cousin xbox for his bday (which is on december 16). So i am gonna buy a xbox, switch the dvd drive from new xbox to my, return the new xbox and tell them that is defected and get me a another xbox. Is not like the open xbox to see if is out of waranty. They will simply give me a new one. And Microsoft will get the messed up xbox back and will spent there own money to fix it! | |

There are other ways to return a defective Xbox but I don't believe we should discuss them. Just goes to show you, get an extended warentee on everything, it would have cost you $40 to buy it.

Even if they didn't check it while you were there. Im sure they would open it later and find out that it had been opened. And they would have your address and phone number so they would contact you once they found the torn sticker. Not a great Idea. | |

when i bought my first xbox, is came with a defective controller (r button was getting stuck), so i returned the xbox and got new one. i never filled out a form or nothing. this is because i probably paid with cash. I bought my xbox at best buy just to let u guys know. | |
