I am looking for a good VGA box to put my sony 19" CRT monitor to good use. I tried the 'offical' X-box one from Best Buy but it will only put out 640 X 480. I might as well use my 32"tv for that. What I am looking for is a box preferably under 100$ to unlock the better graphics that modern games are providing. I have Crimson Skies, which supports 480P and ran it through a friends HDTV system and it lookd GREAT!

Im doing some research on the tech side of it all now but would appreciate a nod in the right direction. I would like a box that supports LCD monitors, and the higher the resolution the better.

Well....

It looks like the one Box I want is the one I cant get. Nobody seems to be selling the X-Blaster anymore. The only info I can get on it is from around march of 03. And the company that made the thing doesn't
seem to sell it anymore.

Ebay dosent even have it so far.

I use an Xblaster and had to get send the first one back the day I got it because it would not work with any of my three monitors, they sent it back saying they must have accidentally sent me one of their first batches which, had an incorrect value in scan frequency, they finally sent me another one and it worked on my gay a** old compaq monitor which, at that point "progressive or not" it was still better looking on my pure flat toshiba interlaced TV than that monitor. Once it came to using it on kick a** monitors (Sony Trinitron 19") or Syncmaster 17" or even my cheap Mag Monitor, it would only give me an error saying "Frequency out of range" or "Sync out of range" I also had my friends try it on their monitors and non of them could get it to work either. So, stay away from Xblaster, it's not worth gambling to see if it works or not on yours.
