Welcome to XBS Carl Harchick!

I've noticed this problem with a LOT of EA games. Some folks have boiled their discs to solve this problem. Others, suggest coloring the outer ring with a highlight marker (any color).

Before you try either of those...

What type of drive do you have ?(Thompson, Phillips, Samsung)
Have you tried using a CD/DVD cleaning disc?
Have you cleaned the game disc itself? (Even though its new, some game discs can be covered with dust/film)

Hopefully, one of the above will work for ya'. Good Luck!

I just have a question. Does this warante work in Canada? And does it work if you haven't gotten one before? In Canada there are no warantees when u first get your xbox, or so I've been told. something like that....

Howdy Mezorie, Welcome to !

Unfortunately, The extended waranty offered by Microsoft is NOT available in Canada. It's only offered to U.S. residents.

You can get info from fellow Canadians at the CANADIAN XBOX FORUMS at xbox.com http://forums.xbox.com/ShowForum.aspx?ForumID=30

(NOTE: You must have NET PASSPORT installed)

Good luck and again, Welcome to XBS!

Damn! That sucks. Sorry to hear that. Did you check the link to the Canadian Forums? You may wanna ask around there for repair shop info. If you can find out where your xbox was purchased, see if that store offers an extended waranty. Remember, the same rules apply...

...DO NOT SPEAK OF ANY PROBLEMS YOU ARE HAVING WITH YOUR XBOX!!

Good luck!

Re: Problems with your Xbox? Before you call...

Hi, well I placed a bid on e-bay by accident on a broken x-box and I'm currently winning it, so if I do get stuck with it(only $5.50) could you tell me if its fixable, the problem is according to the seller that when you turn it on it blinks a red light, I would think this would have to do with a BIOS problem and if thats the case i could probably reformat the HDD and it would work. What do you guys think is wrong with it?

It's some sort of internal error. I replied a while ago explaining each of the color codes and what they mean when they start blinking. And blink red was indicative of an internal error of some sort. But it's outlined in the manual that comes with the Xbox.

Re: Problems with your Xbox? Before you call...

Hello all, sorry for the bump, but I wasnt sure where to put this.

Today my xbox decided to mess up on me. All my games freeze on me after a short random period. Ive tried using some compressed air to blow out any vents I could see but it has not worked. If it helps any I bought Morrowind game ofthe year edition yesterday. Tomarrow I am going to try to find my laser disc cleaner and see if it will solve my problems, worked for my ps2.

The reason I am posting this here is because I was looking at this extended warranty. I purchased this xbox in 4/04/04 refurbished. Does this extended warranty apply to refurbished xbox's also?
