I think plasma looks good after you let it warm up for what 2 hours? The only thing that keeps me from getting one is that once it goes, thats it. I watch a lot of TV, movies and play a lot of games so I use my tv more the the average user so I want a TV that will last. Don't plasma get pretty hot also? If you had that mounted to the wall, what kind of discoloring would that cause due the heat?

It can throw off some heat, but I think people over-exaggerate the amount. (although I do feel better knowing it has a clear airflow) When you buy a TV get a service plan, no need to worry, if something goes wrong 2-3 years down the road, the equivalent priced TV will be a better one.

Re: The NEW Post Your Gaming Set-up Thread

Good point. I've always scoffed at extended warranties because they only seemed to cover the things that never break. But with a high ticket item like an hdtv I'd definitely get one. I got my proj used off of ebay so no dice there.

To tell you the truth, the LCD in my bedroom gets WAY hotter than my plasma screen. And yeah, I got the 4 year warranty, this puppy will be replaced in the future by a 1080p model like Jason's. Oh, and rough, on my Sammy they say if you use it 6 hours a day (I know that's probably less than you use your TV) it should last 27 years.

Re: The NEW Post Your Gaming Set-up Thread

I have an Xbox 360. Standard TV.

The computer, is another story. It has 512 Cache ram, but I added 512 ram by rigging unused memory. It is unforunately devoid of a graphics card, as it has been broken for a while. Great sounding speakers. I am 15, and the computers not actually mine.
