on the original xbox you had to delete your whole folder (saves) included.

Clearing the cashe does nothing with your saved games. Please read the following it may help with any questions. I will remind anyone that does this it will delete all updates for games. So you'll have to re update a game when putting it in. It will not delete any dashboard updates though.
