The sheer frustration that is my router and trying to get it to comply with my wireless adapter.
Everytime I try to log on, my Xbox tells me that it can't obtain an IP. When I attempt to enter a static IP, it says that it can't work with static IP.
I called Linksys and they told me that I needed to "open ports", though, my router is not under warranty anymore so I would have to pay them a hefty fine in order for them to help me. I declined, and the guy referred me to a webpage on the Linksys website, I can't find any info regarding my router and XBL setup.
Anyways, I looked around online, and found a thread on here that listed the ports that needed to be forwarded and also listed an MTU setting. I entered in this information, restarted my router and modem, still no cigar.
I REALLY don't know what to do.
My router is a WRT54GS by Linksys. I also tried upgrading the firmware, but couldn't figure that out either. I downloaded a .bin file via the linksys webpage... no idea what to do with that kind of file.
Hope you guys can help...
