Always disconnecting from Xbox Live

I use Xbox live for a number of games and every 2-15 minutes. I get disconnected from Xbox Live. The error says "Network connect was lost" or something along the lines. Otherwise, my games are perfectly fine. I am not sure why it is getting disconnected. I'm pretty sure its something with my router. I have a Netgear WGR614 v6 and SBC DSL connection. I'm thinking maybe its the firmware or, some changes I have to make like port forwarding something, or opening ports. When I get disconnected I check the ethernet lights on my router, and the one that is used to verify my Xbox connection is always off. Also, sometimes it's flickering of and on. Please help. I would like to play a full game without getting disconnected.

Re: Always disconnecting from Xbox Live

You need to make sure your NAT is set correctly, what does it say about the NAT when you do the connection test on the 360?

Re: Always disconnecting from Xbox Live

When I test my connection on Xbox Live it cant even test my NAT, It says my network adapter is disconnected so I' thinking maybe my ethernet port on my Xbox is broken. I've done tests to find out what the problem is and I've narrowed it down to the ethernet port.

Re: Always disconnecting from Xbox Live

If all the other tests pass, and it fails at the NAT, there is nothing wrong with your ethernet port.

Re: Always disconnecting from Xbox Live

NAT can be fixed by the most current firmware installed correctly.
