Computer -> Ethernet Cord -> Xbox

I dont know if it is possible or not but can you get the internet to go to an xbox from your computer that uses a USB wireless router receiver? I have the ethernet slot free since the router antenna is using one of my 99999 USB slots, and my router is downstairs and CANNOT move nor will my mom allow me to get a big ethernet cord to run up the stairs.

Re: Computer -> Ethernet Cord -> Xbox

yeh, you can use the wireless from your computer with the Xbox, (im assuming you are using windows) just connect the xbox to the computer using a crossover Ethernet cord (usually blue) and the computer should get a good connection automattically, if not, eg limited or no connectivity, then go into the connection properties and click on the internet protocol in the box and then click properties, click on whatever the other option is in your case, if it is "use the following IP address, the click on that and fill in any number you want, the subnet mask must be the same on both computer and Xbox, IP address must be different, once the connectionis fine, go to the connections window (the window that shows you all the connections) hold [ctrl] and click on both wireless and xbox connection, then right click on any of the connections and click on "create network bridge" once the bridge is established the Xbox should be able to connect to xbox live
