HD resolution shadows

When I enable HD reslutions on my XBox, (480p, 720p, 1080i), I'm getting faint image echoes or shadows to the right of delinations, like text or faces. This is particularly noticible in XBox media centre, when browsing through files against a white background, but it is apparent in game and video as well. I can set the screen to widescreen (480i) without issue, but as soon as I enable any HD resolution, I get this problem. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

I've got a Panasonic 50px75 http://www.panasonic.ca/English/audi...h42_50px75.asp. I used the component cables that came with my Mad Catz HD kit, and some generic cables AV cables.

Re: HD resolution shadows

Ok the first you have to do is check the obvious, get different cables and try those. If thats not it and the problem persists, You may need to hit some forums on HDTV;s and see if any one else is having this problem with that brand television. Because from my end of it it sounds like you TV is messed up and other then taking it to a repair shop, you may be out of luck.

Do you get this problem with HD channels as well? DVD playback? If yes, then its either those cheap cables or your TV it self.

Re: HD resolution shadows

Make sure the swith on the 360 video cable is switched to HDTV. If that is not the issue, I agree wit rough above. Sounds like the TV then.

I don't think the Mad Catz cables have that switch. What I find funny is how you have a $1,700 TV, but you use 3rd party cables....

Re: HD resolution shadows

I am having the EXACT SAME PROBLEM!

Whew! I thought it was just me

Anyway, I am using the Intec HD AV pack with my ORIGINAL xbox (not 360) with my LG DLP HDTV and whenever I choose HD resolutions in XBMC, I get these shadows that you're describing. I don't play xbox games anymore, I only use my xbox1 for XBMC so I can't comment on xbox games. But these shadows are driving me NUTS. (YES, I have the switch over to HD on the AV pack)

You can try my workaround ...

This may sound strange..but try plugging an S-VIDEO cable into the HD pack alongside your component cables and then plug the other end of the S-VIDEO cable into any S-VIDEO port on your TV.

Let me know what happens.

I had this working just fine up until I purchased a component input switcher so that I could use both my Wii and my Xbox1 through the same component input on my TV. All was GREAT until the screen turns completely white, then the signal gets garbled and the screen flickers black and then goes back to normal.

When I plug my xbox directly into my TV (remember..using BOTH component AND s-video cables) it works perfectly and looks beautiful in 1080i.
