Press and hold the connect button on the controller until the lights spin quickly, then press the connect button on the console. This worked quickly when I switched consoles.

The lights on my controller spin like you said, but when i press the connect button on the console, they just keep spinning and nothing happens, then the lights just go back to blinking, anyone have any solutions?

You will notice that it will then flash faster and longer. It is normal though.
