COD: World at War

Official site

Ok, so first, let me say that COD4 was awesome, but this, I'm not getting my hopes up. Honestly, I've got WWII games pouring out my ears. How many more games on the subject could the possibly make? How about a Gulf war game, with F14 tomcats and stuff like that. Or a Korean war game? But no, we get more WWII, because the Germans like the Russians, will always be portrayed as "bad guys".

Secondly, why will this game only support 720p? In the age of 1080p coming in LCDs as small at 32", why are future games stuck in 1080i land? The xbox360 can handle full 1080p processing, in fact they announced at E3 that it'll even be able to support resolutions higher than that (on a computer monitor for example). So again, why only 720p?

Thoughts, comments, etc.

Re: COD: World at War

They are scared of what EndWar is going to do so they went the safe route and went back to WWII. I agree and really need to see if I am even going to touch this one.

Re: COD: World at War

I did some reading. Apparently this will take place in the pacific theater. If so, it's looking up. What I'm worried about though is that they people making it are the ones that threw together COD3 which I personally thought was garbage. It'll run off the COD4 engine, so at least there's that.
