Madden 08 - Vince Young on the cover?

I know this news is about a week old now, but I wanted to know what some NFL fans thought about Vince Young being on the cover of this years Madden. Look I know Vince had a great year near the end of last year, but he was not even the starter at the start of the season last year. If you look at Vince Young's stats from last year they are average at best. Not only that, but for him to make the Pro Bowl was flat out crap. There were so many QB's out of the AFC that had better years than he did. Shaun Alexander made sense being on the cover of Madden last year because he was the league MVP.

I had heard that LT was EA's first choice, but for whatever reason they couldn't get him to be on the cover. Oh well my vent is over.

The Madden Curse Max.
Look at the past few years and the results and injuries to the players featured on Madden. I will say Tenn is taking a big risk letting him on the cover. As far as his talent he certainly deserves to be on the cover but at what cost?

vince young should NOT be on the cover..not even close IMO. why not peyton manning? Farve (old yes, but o well), larry johnson, chad johnson(my personal choice). Vince Young won games for the titans last year, but if you look at his numbers, i probably could have thrown less interceptions and more yards than he did..and im a running back

No doubt the Madden curse played a big role in the decision. To me though it is just hard to believe in superstitions like that. I just think there were a lot better candidates out there. LaDainian Tomlinson had a huge year, as well as Drew Brees. How about Peyton Manning, I mean the guy did win the Super Bowl finally. Devin Hester would have been a great choice as well, he put special teams on the map again.

Okay this is real life not a video game. I understand your point but lets not go overboard. You think they should go with someone else then write EA and tell them.
I just felt like your throwing stats in my face like I don't know the sport.

i wasnt throwing stats in your face, i was just stating my opinion. for the past 8 years or w/e the cover athelete of madden has been a big name superstar, not a 2nd year player that didnt even have a great year the year before. i understand its a video game, not real life (obviously) but im just asking..why vince young? what does this accomplish for madden?
