I still think it lies more with the fact that since EA has exclusive rights, they need to take it up a notch and create the best game they can. However, they still haven't done so. No competition is a bad thing and since we're stuck with one NFL game for the next few years, we only have the choice to buy Madden or no NFL football at all. If EA would take it upon themselves to create a good football game, then I wouldn't have a problem with them having the license. Judging from Madden 360 though, they're gonna try to get away with the bare minimums. Sure, the graphics are beautiful this year (which is a first), but gameplay sucks. Features were cut everywhere.
Oh well. I still bought it. As much as I said I would never buy an EA product, sure didn't take me long to buy Madden 360. I guess EA will get what they want - people buying their game because it's the only option available.
