ps3 price slipped - Page 3

Yes they do to a point. But they are really making this sort of hard to forget. Who knows like I have said before the proof will be at E3 if Sony has a working PS3 that will show a lot. If not this may really hurt them but even if they manage to put it at say $599.99 they are still the most expensive unit out there and this will hurt them either way. I want to see it in action then I will make up my mind.

yeah, i agree..if they dont have a working console at E3..they could be in some serious trouble

not too hard to forget if it turns not to be true I don't think...but if it comes out at $599.99,,that still puts in the range of that the rumors have been saying, albeit the lower end of it,,but I would still call that an unreasoable price unless that thing is gonna feed me breakfest in bed while I play it

...i was thinking Sony could be helping this hype along with "little slip ups" by their representatives,,then push the console out at $400,,if they did that, no one would care about the rumors before hand..not that i think they'll be able to do that, I figure that at bottom line, you won't be able to get a Ps3 for less than $500 at the least .

I think the price is ognna help microsoft alot. If it doesnt look life-changing at E3, i think people are just gonna put down the 400 for the 360, instead of waiting for the PS3....

Truthfully, I can't believe the s0ny fanboys are hanging on this long. I woulda jumped ship (over to xbox 360) long ago if I was a PS fanboy. With the numerous broken promises so far and the outrageous price? Puh-lease.

Brain washing aside, if s0ny again fails to deliver even one working piece of hardware at another show (E3 is only 20 days away!) they deserve to lose all of their customers. Come on, they've had since last year to come up with something. So far, nothing but smoke and mirrors. And lots of BIIIG promises that we now know are not gonna come true.

s0ny is good at keeping their product in the press with a new article or blog site coming out every couple of weeks. Just enough to keep the fanboys salivating.

I have nothing against sony only my opinion. I laugh at people who say 360 sucks, it breaks down, wait for ps3. Here are reasons ps3 isnt looking to good.

1. 20 bucks says that ps3 will also have its own errors. It won't be just 360
2. Sony's press conference was reported a failure, and as ign said, "they might as well put a 50 yr. old up with square glasses to lie there."
3. I heard sony will take a huge mistake because the 500 dollar system will NOT support HD gaming.
4. And mostly, Price. 500 or 600, and most will not want the lower priced because of having to buy wifi and NO HD.
5. And huge title's are coming for the 360, and it's little bugs are bieng worked out.
So, you ps3 people do whatever, but im just telling you the down side.
Also as for the gaming graphic wise, it will be just about the same as 360, the price is huge mostly of blue ray.

I don't know about PS3 or Xbox prices in the US but I've just converted 500 euro into pounds sterling and it works out at about £331.

When you consider that here in the UK the 'top of the range' Xbox 360 costs us about £280, it isn't that big a difference. This is especially so when you consider that the PS3 comes fitted with a Blu-ray device inside it. I understand the 360 doesn't yet come with a DVD HD in the same enclosure but it has to have it as an external device of almost equal size sat next to it.

At least, that what I've heard.

Does anyone know how much the external DVD HD for the Xbox 360 costs yet? More than another £50 I have no doubt.

BTW 600 euros is around £397 (right now)

Its $199 here in the states and it is maybe a quarter of the size of the 360, tis pretty small. It does not have hdmi o it and that is a major downside, because some HDDVD's will not out put HD unless it senses an HDMO commection. Most will though.

I also know that The Lord of the Rings will be coming to HDDVD this year sometime and that to me is well worth my purchase.
