oh I was thinking the canadian price of the Ps2 at lanuch. It was like 730 $ or somthing. Those are in american dollars, so ya that is alot higher. sorry my bad.

No it's more than that! It was listed in Euros. 599= about 1.69 US Dollars to one Euro so that is about 1,030.00. That is 3 X + more than the PS2 at launch in The US!

If this is the case, I think sony is in huge troubble. Sony fanatic or not, I dont think anyone will be willing to pay that much money for a videogame console.

sounds a CMA statement to me, especially if E3 "could be" the earliest sony will say anything official about the price...ya know, this could all be a very cleaver ruse by sony to get hipe going with high price rumors, so that they can then price it for less than that and make themselves look good.

I based it on the first post and they said it was going to be 599 euros in any case, I had said the whole time that Sony would release the thing in the US at about 800.00 it still is way to high and if they are trying to create hype by being known as over priced then that is pretty stupid. You want to try and bring fans to you not create anger. So based on the link you have yea that would be about 800.00 but it is still just rumors and guessing right now.

any hype is a good thing before its released, because it gets people talking about it, look at all the threads we've had discussing this beast of a console..no matter what anyones feelings are for the ps3 after hearing rumors about how high priced it might be , IF it comes out a lower and more reasonable price than predicted, then everyone will forget all about the negative feelings they had about the price before hand..because people are like that, and as a group tend to have a short memory span, thats something you yourself told me once Blair.
