I finally really started to play KotOR II, and now I'm done. Finished the game in a single marathon 36 hour (32 if you count food and pee breaks, as well as the occasional flip to a real channel to avoid burn-in on my projection television, and cruise XBS) session. It was that good, it kept me glued to the sofa for hour after hour, leeching my sleep and energy.
I may even be persuaded to submit a review when I wake up.

Hardcore.
And quite crazy may I add.

Whoa, that's pretty extreme. Beats my record of staying awake until 04:22Am playing the original KOTOR. I would have continued, but the tremors, dizzyness and altered visions were a hint that I should probably rest.

I do it all the time, I find a game I really like and then play it non-stop until its dead or I pass out with a controller in my hand/head on the desk. Add to that sleeping 14 hours every other day is my sleep cycle of choice and it's not hard to imagine.
Sometimes I go crazy and work for 32 hours at a stretch, too. I'm best in short concentrated bursts. I'm thinking about giving up mmogs since I can't actually "finish" them ever and they turn into repeated time sinks, which means that I'm not working, which means that my degree is not progressing, which means that I'm a perpetual student.
Still, the simulated economy in World of Warcraft is more enthralling than an economics course devoted to ~flation of currencies, or Canadian Government redux.

I know what you mean about the sleep cycle. It can get very messed up.

When you're running on caffeine and intrigue you begin to care very little for peripheral events and begin to focus solely on the straight and narrow path of the main narrative

I actually found KOTOR II to be dissapointingly short lived. And Pergus was about as dull as watching something incredibly dull... and the influence system was ill conceived. While it's great that your alignment affects the others in your party, if certain actions cause them to react negatively, they should no longer travel with you and be replaced with characters that admire your actions. This way, you would have a truly light side/dark side playing party.

Yes KoTOR II was a bit . . . . dull . . . extremely dull. I did like the first time around seeing Darth Sion and his marauders and assassins. And then when you meet Darth whatever-his name is (we'll call him Mr. Muthafugga). But after a while it gets old with the same ambush, kill, talk, continue routine. And I agree with Smith on the party system. If members don't like your actiond then they can leave and go back to their boring lives. I know I'd rather go around forcing people to jump into pits and givingine me money.
