I am a happy owner of an Xbox and I've been looking for a good RPG for a while. I did own Morrowind for a while, which was a very fun RPG that took up a lot of my time. There were some things that I did not like about the game though, so I sold it.
I'm not a big Xbox game guru, so I would like some help. I would like to get an RPG game on the Xbox with these specifics: - No magic, sorcery, demons, etc. in the game.
- No bloody or terribly violent games.
Your help is very much appreciated. Thank you. | |

I would recommend Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic. You can read two member reviews here: http://talk.xboxsolution.com/showthread.php?t=5859 http://talk.xboxsolution.com/showthread.php?t=5748 To sum it up, it's a fantastic game with hours upon hours of gameplay... and a sequel is due in December!

Originally Posted by nicklang319 I didn't know there were Rpg's without magic. | There's the SciFi-ish kinds. They generally have aliens and unfathomable technology (and the occasional unfathomable mysterious "force"). As Smithy boy said, the Knights of the Old Republic series of games are great simply for being high fantasy in space, on top of having engaging stories and lightsabers that go "woom".
The Xbox RPG lineup is pretty thin, and trying to find a game without any of the traditional fantasy elements is very hard. If you're willing to branch out to PC games, however there's a lot to be found. Freedom Force and Freedom Force vs, the Third Reich are excellent comic book inspired RPGs. As with Golden and Silver Age comics (stretching from WW2 to around the end of the 80s when the antiheroic characters became popular) the morality is clearly defined. Anachronox is an RPG in a Japanese style that was set in speace, with a lot of humor and no fanatsy elements. The Fallout series of RPGs (if you avoid the abominable console game that bears that name) are postapocalyptic masterpieces (the second one is a little bit adult oriented, but that can easily be avoided).
Trying to avoid any musticism (or violence) an an RPG, in general, is a tall order. Usually they involve conflict and things beyond the ken of mortal man. It's also common for people to associate RPG immeditely with the fantasy genre. You also might want to try traditional (pen 'n paper, dice based tabletop RPGs) if you do I can give you a boatload of suggestions. However I'm finisged blathering now
EDIT: Thread resurrection. Curses to me for not checking the dates. Curses!

But for a game that doesn't have the exact words of 'magic' or 'spells' check out Knights Of The Old Republic and Knights Of The Old Republic II : Sith Lords. But games like Morrowind : Elder Scrolls III, Sudeki, Jade Empire, etc they all deal with magic or spells.
