Yes, this game has been in development since Xbox came out. In fact OXM did a preview about it in one of their very first issues. Back when it was called Project Ego. About the ESRB rating thing, even if Fable didn't black out, they would have to show some pretty hardcore stuff to get an AO rating. So far there hasn't been any Xbox game with an AO rating.

OMG! if fable has been in development that long then this game sucks hardcore, if a game takes that long to make it should be the best game of all time. I know a lot of games that are better than this one and didn't take nearly as long.

How come it took so long to develop? What has fable got that other games have got because surely they have had a lot of time on this so can anyone tell me how they show this. What stands out?

It's really funny now that I think about it, because OXM said that one of the games downfalls could be that Big Blue Box would promise too many things in the game, take way too long, and then fall short of what they advertised.

The development team was standard in size...

The reason it took so long is because apparently there was a lot of content that had to be removed...

I remember reading that a sequel to Fable is on the cards, and that it will be for next gen consoles... And that next time around, the development team won't hold back...

Sorry that I can't remember where I heard this... I think it was in an issue of OAXM...

I think they just wasted alot of teime on features that were nothing more then pipe dreams so by the time they got done redoing everything they only had a good RPG, instead of "the best RPG ever"
