Re: Lord of the Rings: The Third Age - Got anyone else all hot and bothered?

I have faith in it, from the 4 movies I've seen the gameplay looks on point and the graphics aren't that bad. From what I've seen so far the only thing that could mess this game up is the story. I wouldn't say I'm a LoTR fan or anything but I've always thought that the story would make a good RPG, except for the fact that in the game you don't play as the fellowship but as someone who is accomplishing his own mission/story/journey and occasionally runs into the fellowship. I also heard that throughout the game you can side with the fellowship, or Sauron. So that should at an extra spice to it as well. With that aside, I also don't remember any EA games that stood out to me as much as this one did. Thats why I think this'll be the best game they've ever made.

Players will be able to control the Balrog...? You sure about this? Where did you read/see that?

You can control the Balrog in the upcoming LOTR Battle for Middle Earth (an RTS where you can play good or evil), but you only fight one in LOTR the Third Age.

Ahh, that clears it up. I was wondering if they were making a RTS for LoTR. I mean with all the races and all it'd be a good idea. Is EA developing this one as well?

no, in third age you can control a balrog. afta your battle if you win, you will unlock the balrog in a "mini game" like section and you go through the boss battle on the other end, but it doesn't affect the story at all

Re: Lord of the Rings: The Third Age - Got anyone else all hot and bothered?

Hey all,

Let me introduce myself, I am the webmaster of a site that covers this game that you are all talking about. In fact, right now it is the only fansite covering this particular product. The site has some great content with ingame sound clips. I also recently attended a TTA Community Day at EA; you can find that article at the site as well with even more ingame sound clips throughout the article.

In addition to those, I have also manage to get an interview with Michael Becker, the person who wrote the story for TTA. It is the only interview with him out there.

Also today, I released a video interview with Steve Gray, the Executive Producer of TTA. Then in a few days I will be releasing another video interview again, this time though, it would be Todd Arnold, the Senior Producer for TTA.

Anyways, I hope that if you are interested in this game that you would come and check out my website for it. It is called Middle-Earth MW and is located here:
http://dynamic6.gamespy.com/~memw/.

Finally, if you have any questions about the game, just stop by the chatroom at the site. I am usually on there throughout the day and into most of the night, and I would be more than happy to answer any questions. If there is something I cannot answer, I could get it answered for you quite easily.

Thanks for reading,
Nick

Wow I wish I was you. Gettin' to meet fancy game designers and producers. Soon that'll be me working at Ubisoft, alright! This game doesn't look to bad, but I'll have to wait before I put any more money down on games. Don't wanna spend it all.
