I don't think I've ever saw anyone get banned for dis agreeing on here,(god knows Gen and the lot of us would've been gone a long time ago ) only when it gets really heated do the mods even step in to quiet everyone down a bit, and that generally only happens when insults start flying. I guess part of the reason we only have around 20 active members is that we prefer to keep our discussions on the mature level instead of letting everyone run around screaming whatever they wish at one another,,must take away some of the fun in a forum

I want to keep it on topic, but I actually sort of like how everyone is finally saying what is on their mind and I wouldn't mind either splitting this thread or making a new one for that matter.
There's a lot of people on both sides jumping on each other for stupid reasons in this thread, but I feel like arguing may help us. Some need to calm down on the insults, but I do agree that we have become more strict and I honestly don't like it. It's just causing more problems than it's solving.
This is still the website I visit most, but obviously I haven't posted much lately. There's two reasons for that - 1) I'm very busy. I'm sure many of you are. I try my best to browse when I have some free time. 2) Content. Like what has already been mentioned, there are barely any new threads or discussions. I feel that is because of the way things have tightened up around here. I know this is a family oriented site, but we gotta loosen up in my opinion. Bring back the debate threads for example, let people post questionable stuff (and by questionable I don't mean porno or gory stuff obviously). Yeah, it can get heated, but we all know each other here and we all know that we shouldn't take anything someone else says against you personally.
New discussions, different opinions, different ideas all bring life to a forum and we need all of those. Who cares of it's an old idea? Who cares if a thread pushes the boundaries? It sparks discussion and involvement - both of which have been minimal lately.
Anyway, maybe I will make a new thread for this a bit later. I think we all need to discuss this as a community without jumping at each others throats. We all have our ideas of how this place can be like it once was and I feel that's where we need to be headed again.

I vote on what Rockk said.

XBS suffers and thrives on one thing, gamers. and with that comes the tragic problem, gamers are people of extremes, we love something or hate it with the same intensity. and this causes us to jump on people of differing viewpoints. the key is to remember that we all have a common goal in our diversity. to create a market that demands the same diversity of games to please all appetites. b.e., your sentiments are noted, but you need to be more civil in your responses for the sake of the forum. your more than welcome to call me an idiot in a PM or IM, but to do it in an open thread drops this forum to the level of the other flame forums, a level of unprofessional anarchy.
