Help! Which driving game to choose?

Hi guys, I've just bought a 360 and have loads of adventure/shooting games but am searching for a fun driving game to satisfy my speed urges. Not after a racing sim but something a bit fun that's still not too arcadey. I.e something with decent physics where I can drift/get chased by the fuzz or just explore about the place (sandbox style) speeding for fun with some decent race challenges. Have looked at burnout paradise, mid club LA and NFS carbon so far but can't decide. Paradise doesn't seem to have cops, LA seems as if it may be a bit too arcadey and NFS seems good but a bit old now? Don't ask much hey! Any help or suggestions really appreciated.

I have gotten away from racing games for a while... The only one I can remember that offers sandbox style playing is NFS: Undercover.

For other racing sims I would recommend checking the demos for Forza 3 and NFS: Shift.

The new Burnout paradise is a drive anywhere game and its fun.

Paradise is a blast and with the new island very large. I really have been impressed with NFS: Shift very well done and not like any other NFS game ever released. It's in many way's like Forza and PGR while keeping the aggressive or arcade style in small ways. The graphics are incredible keep in mind you have the next Forza hitting in the next 2 weeks but Forza is not for everyone.

thanks for the feedback guys, i'm still searching lol! Looking like midnight clubs prob the way to go, think the lack of cops and car modding in burnout will frustrate me in the end. Any tips or feedback welcome. If anyone knows of anything coming out soon too let me know.

Your going to have to pick which type of racing game you want arcade or sim. If you are wanting modding then next week Forza 3 comes out there are no cop chases but more parts and paint jobs then any other game out there. It is not an arcade game and nor very forgiving. It is an excellent racing game though. If you want crashes, cops etc then perhaps NFS: Undercover last years NFS title but it was solid and enjoyable with all the cop chasing and action you would want. This year the change has been to more sim racing than arcade even NFS: Shift is a mix but no cops you may want to try that as it also rewards you for dirty driving. I would strongly recommend that if you are going to get Forza 3 drive clean as the ganers that play it tend to not tolerate dirty racing at all. Hope this helps?
