It's 2 or 3 gigs I believe. Pure Ego I added you to my friends list, you need to accept it. Jason I need to add you as well and anyone else that has a PS3 and wants to chill on HOME.

Posts: 2,585 | Re: HOME For PS3 I can see where Home is going to suck in a lot of time for Gamers, Its big..its fun and its very social. you have way more choices in customizing your character then you do on the wii. It seems to use the same customizing that Oblivion does is that you can change your face structure and detail. The Mall has and will have everything from clothes, to furnishing for you apartment. Clothing accessories like a cowboy hat cost .49 cents, I like the way is little amounts like that and not a SET of clothes for 200 ms points. You can use a key board or blutooth to hang out, there is a bowling alley in the beta and the mall has tables of games like chess. There is a screen in the mall that displays news and movie clips you can watch in real time.
I am not sure if Home will move systems right now...but as it gets better and the word gets out, I think that it WILL start to move PS3 systems...now if only the games would start coming out.
My final thought......
Home is ambitious for sony and so far its living up to the hype....this is what MS should have done with the social part of the avatar thing...this is waht they still can do.
I really am loving Home right now....I can meet up with my friends in the mall or plaza, we can hang out, chat and then discuss what game we want to play..then go do it, I can even invite people over to my place and have a party. Its like World of warcraft when everyone gathered in some city or bar and just hung out and chated...its that same feeling. If you have a PS3...check it out and please come back and give me your thoughts.

I really am not excited about it if Sony had more games worth playing than I could see them doing all the work to build HOME. Truth is what good is it without good games to want to talk about playing? Xbox Live is fine I don't need a fancy meeting place the party system works fine and gets the job done. Am I still the only one not sold on this huge paper weight of a system? Blue Ray and Blue Tooth is great but now companies are releasing Blue Ray players better than the one that is in the PS3 and at a better price. If Sony wants to remain in the game they need more games. Just my thoughts.

At the risk of sounding like an MS fanboy, which I'm not even though I accept a like Xbox much more than Playstation, I have to say Home seems to me like a glorified Sims game.
To me it's just another way to screw people out of their money... your "apartment" has nothing... a couch, 2 tables, 2 lamps, and that's about it. If you want anything else, you'll need to pay. I know we are in the microtransaction era, but darn I hate it.
While I agree with rough that's nice that you can buy items by themselves instead of "packs", I still do not see myself spending money for anything there. Same with XBL, I seriously doubt I'll ever pay for a costume piece for my avatar when they start releasing them.
The Mall is just that... a mall. I then tried to play bowling, arcade games, and pool... NOT! There's a limited amount of lanes, games, and tables... and if they are full, you can't play. Am I the only that thinks that's stupid?!? They should have some sort of 'virtual' bowling lane that loads when you try to play... or maybe I missed something.
Besides that, it's all advertising, the screens, the posters, everything. I got out of there after I couldn't even try the bowling.
I doubt I'll try it again, maybe after it's out of "beta". I just think that Sony should have made it so you load right onto Home when you start your console, like with the Xbox... I mean, why else would I want to start Home? To be in a glorified chatroom? If the 360 didn't load the NXE or the avatars at startup I wouldn't start it either because ultimately, it is useless to me. When I turn on my console I want to game, watch a movie, etc., but no stand around while talking to people.
As I said, I probably sound like a MS fanboy, or maybe I'm too harsh since it's still "beta". Even though we all know they forced the "public beta" to this year because of pressure from gamers and the NXE. If any of those factors hadn't been present I am sure they wouldn't have rushed to release a "public beta".
We'll see what happens next, for all I know it'll be the best thing ever after it's finished, but that's my opinion as of right now.
