I have the camera and its actually better then the 360 one if only that you can use its built in microphone to talk, instead of a headset. down load eye create and you can do things like stop motion video, I have been making little 30 second videos with it using transformers and Halo toys. | |

I'll look at the camera thanks.

Main reason I'm interested in MGS4 is because its "the game" for the PS3...but none of the gameplay videos or anything else I've heard about it really gets me all that excited. Running short on money so I'll probably defer that to "rental" status and try it out eventually..but I don't have high hopes for much into it I'll get.
I've had Warhawk for months, but I've only played it about two times lol. Both games I joined all I did was get slaughtered while I tried to figure out the controls and *****ed at by my oh so very hardcore and experienced teammates. Need to try and get back into that, I read that sony had a few dedicated servers for new players where you could just relax and figure the game out.

It's fine. I can play any game I want (except of course Bioshock and Halo 3) as the games are pretty much 360/PS3/PC these days.
My kids are at it almost every weekday evening playing COD4 (homework permitting of course). My favourite is COD3 online multi. COD4 is so realistic it like being there.
My only gripe has to be the price of the games here in the UK. New games come in at £40 (80 USD?). A bit stiff for my pocket. MGS4 bucked the trend though and started out at £50. Screw that said I and I'm waiting till it's bargain basement or pre-owned. I don't think I'm the only one who thought this though because last night in my local Asda/Walmart I saw it for £38.00. Quite a come down since the game has only been out for two or three weeks.
Nowadays though there appears to be a lot more of the bargain basement games and pre-owned games.
As for the Blu ray disc player. Now that really is the dogs bollocks!! On my 43" Pioneer Plasma the picture (1080i) really has to be seen to be believed. Saved myself a lot of money as I won't need a Blue Ray device ever, as long as the PS 3 lives.
To sum up, in my experience you will be daft not to get the PS3.
The PS3 gets regular updates. One criticism I had was not beng able to invite friends from within games. Well, that is no more. My PS3 updated itself last Thursday (10 July 2008) and now that works.
One final thing. Early 2007 I was hankering after a Next Gen console but I couldn't make my mind up. As MS decreed that I could no longer get any new stuff for my Xbox I decided to look at the PS3 as well as the 360. On the brink of getting the 360 though I was put off by all these reports I read about the Red Light Syndrome so I decided to wait until the 65nm process chip were available. September 2007 comes around - 65 nm chip 360s not to be available in Europe until March 2008. So I decided to wait for six months to see if I can get a newer design 360.
However in November 2007 - PS3 prices dropped. I also learnt the PS 3 was to be cut down a bit with some features such as backwards compatiblity, SACD compatibilty and a smaller HDD. So I decided to jump in and get the PS3 before it was cut down - and have never looked back.
I'm disgusted with MS though, now that I have read that in July 2008 you guys are still having to send your 360s back with that red light thingy. I'm not surprised you are looking at the PS3.
All the above does not mean that I won't get a 360 someday. Just the longer time goes by, the less likely it seems I will do. Making Xbox Live 'free' might do the trick though.
