Butterfly Effect - Anyone seen it?

Just wondering, has anyone seen the Butterfly Effect? It's guaranteed in stock at Blockbuster and I was wondering if it was any good. Thanks.

Director: Eric Bress, J. Mackye Gruber
Categories: Thriller, Science Fiction
Rated: R (Violence, Adult Language, Sexual Situations, Drug Content, Not For Children )
Running Time: 113 minutes
DVD Features: Butterfly Effect

Synopsis

Final Destination 2 screenwriters Eric Bress and J. Mackye Gruber make their directorial debut with the sci-fi thriller The Butterfly Effect. Evan Treborn (Ashton Kutcher with facial hair) wants to free himself from his disturbing childhood memories. As a kid, he often blacked out for long periods of time and tried to detail his life in a journal. As a young adult, he revisits the journal entries to figure out the truth about his troubled childhood friends Kayleigh (Amy Smart), Lenny (Elden Henson), and Tommy (William Lee Scott). When he discovers he can travel back in time in order to set things right, he tries to save his beloved friends. However, he finds out that relatively minor changes can make major problems for the future. The Butterfly Effect also stars Eric Stoltz, Ethan Suplee, and Melora Walters. The title was inspired by the story A Sound of Thunder by Ray Bradbury. ~ Andrea LeVasseur, All Movie Guide

Re: Butterfly Effect - Anyone seen it?

I thought it was very good, and I'm not exactly a fan of Ashton Kutcher, but I must admit he did a very good job in this movie. You have to pay attention to the storyline because moments will happen that don't make sense at first, but further along in the movie if you are paying attention those scenes that didn't make sense all of a sudden do. And a bit of a spoiler here but not too much, I'm refferring to the times when he experiences blackouts, and that's all I'll say.

I do have to say that the whole going back in time to save the girl he loved did remind me a bit of the remake of H.G. Wells' The Time Machine if you ever saw that movie, in that everytime he goes back and thinks he has a solution to save her he really ends up screwing things up even more.

But it was a great story and the ending was particularly interesting and makes perfect sense when you think about what he had to do to essentially make everything right.
