i duno i use a 100 ft generic cable, like just a regular ethernet cable

Yeah...the MS system link cable , if I reacall, is just your regular CAT-5 ethernet cable.

If I recall correctly the system link cable is a crossover cable, not an ethernet cable. They are similar, but not the same. You can use a standard crossover cable from a computer store instead of the Microsoft one. | |

The crossover cable for the xbox is the same as a CAT-5 (ethernet cable). But if you want a longer cable over 20 ft. you might want to be looking for tha CAT-5 one. Sometimes its cheaper to buy the CAT-5 then the crossover cable.
