xbox on wireless in australia

I have a xbox and a live account and find it very hard to keep it all running smooth.

First $99 for subscription a YEAR. What is that?

Then you find your internet connection is to slow so you go from 256/64 adsl (iinet)$49.00 to 512/128 (iinet)$59.00 to 1500/256 (swiftel)$79.00 and you find you still cant host full games so you need 512/512 (swiftel)$104.00 and thats a month. Don't forget the cost in the churn of $50.00 for changing isp's AND a charge of $44.00 for a line speed change.

Then your Dlink 504 is to good and wont talk to sum of the other modems out there. So you have to tweek it or buy a cheaper one.

And if you want to play someone over sea's forget it, if thay do have a T1 connection and let you play you lag up right when the heat is on and you die or whatever.

And all you have is 100 friends on your friends list so if your lucky you might have 15 people on at one time and spread over a number of games.

And some friends appear offline and you know thay are on because you just finish msn chatting to them and said you will play live with them.

And at peek time just try a get in a game you want you can wait up to 2 to 3 hours for a spot.

But to spite all this I am addicted and need my dally fix.

So my question is can I play over a lan wireless connection with 16 people in one game, no lag, no on going cost(isp, etc) and a chipped box?

first off, welcome to ! second, don't talk about modding or chipping. and third, you won't be able to play xbox live with 16 people and no lag even if you were playing your neighor let alone someone on another continent.

I think you've scared him off Viper , WELCOME TO zainaus and the answer to your questions is exactly what Viper said!

Having said that with me in the UK and you guys in the USA and Canada, I've not had any problems playing LIVE games with you all, even with me hosting a couple of weeks back, shockingly enough it was lag free but as far as the lag is concerned isn't that becouse of the amount of people playing at any given time and the conn speed of the person hosting the game, in which case this will be a unavoidable problem.

yep, i think we had about 8 people and it was lag free, but 16 would be impossible unless your internet connection runs through something the size of a hose. oops, i scared off another one, don't worry i'm looking for him as we speak.

like i said before, there isn't one. you could be playing 16 people that live next door and there would still be some lag.

Guys I don't mean playing live I mean xbox links using a Wide-beam (Omni Directional) Antennas.

16 people in one game is easy with 512/512 ADSL its only when someone comes in with a bad connection we get lag and we play from one side of Australia to the other no prob.
Ghost recon is the only game where we drop down to 12 people.
