I know Col blaier says traffic is still moving just fine as far as readers go, but the forums are pretty much dead, no one hardly even updates the site anymore with relavant news. Whats going on Jason? have you lost your passion for XBS? even gronar hasn't been seen in months. Sad state of affairs around these parts, I used to look forward to logging on and talking on the forums but latley its been nothing but tumbleweeds around here. Comic con had a crap load of news and still nothing here has been updated. I really HOPE and encourage you jason to get this site alive again as far as reader participation goes.

I try to post here when I can, but we need some campaign or something to get things moving and grooving again. I don't bother to post about, say the latest Modern Warfare 2 teaser because I know it'll get 1 reply, if that.

Many sites now are using blog software where comments on able be at the bottom of every article. Then there is twitter and all the other crap for people to talk forums in a way have turned to more instant communication.
I myself dont really even go to game sites much i head to n4g and hit the articles there and i read a lot of comments but dont post much nothing what i used to on here.
Like Bob Dylan said "For the times they are a-changin'"

Yes, I have been going through surgeries and some issues. I keep saying if you want the forums to be active then post. I can't type much so this will be short. Why is it that not one member posted about the COD 2 bundle, Comic-Con or anything except to say we are dying? I will repeat what I said last time and the time before you want to get people talking post don't wait for me to heal or someone else to do it.
If you only get 1 or 2 posts in return that's more than you get waiting or not bothering. I won't go through another thread aout what, why, when or how bottom line is if you want to see the forums pick up then he members make a forum right now I don't see people posting and if our long time mebers are going to bother why should new members? Lot's of games and things going on so lets try and post hope this makes ense to some out there and I see a few posts from our long time members.

Thanks for bringing up the topic. I haven't lost my passion for the site but it has been increasingly difficult to find the time to do anything productive on the site.
While I do agree with Col B to an extent I also think this year is a bit different. Yes, its slow because it is summer, but it is slower than normal this year for more than a few reasons.
What Dub said is correct, people are talking more on twitter, facebook and the like, than they are on forums. And our news content has suffered because we don't have anyone that is willing and able to post news stories.
News on the site generates comments for the blog yes, but also questions for the forums. So while no one is posting news it slows everything down even more.
So basically yeah, we need to get things rolling, and I don't think there is any secret that we need help as well. I'm not going to put the site offline because even if people aren't posting all that regularly people still know they can come here if they need to. A lot of friendships have been made here at XBS, and I'm not about to shut communications down because we're in a lull.
Any suggestions that would help us collectively get back on track would be great. I think the key here is that this site, or any other for that matter, cannot thrive on the contributions of one or two people. So we need people that can post news, people that will be dedicated to it, and have their own passion to look for stories and share them.
This opens the door, and hopefully we'll see a lot of good come from this post. Anyone can feel free to contact me directly if they wish, or post here in the forums.

I still frequent here to see if anyone has posted anything, or if anyone has come back to say hi. I try to post once in a while what is going on in my life. Like Jason said, I many friendships have been made and although I don't talk to many of you much anymore, I still consider you all friends and have you all on any friends lists I may have so I can keep in contact.
I don't comment much on the video game areas of the forum because I just haven't had the time I used to have. I rarely play games anymore - not that I don't want to, but I just don't have the time or money right now. Hell, I think the last game I bought was Fallout 3 and I still haven't beat that.
That said, I do miss the Xbox Live game nights and all the fun we shared on there. I am in my own place right now and don't have internet access, but if we could somehow all get back into some online games (even if it's just for a few hours every other week or so), I could see myself investing in internet and Xbox Live again. However, money is tight and I can't afford to go out and buy every new game anymore.
Anyway, I start school again in August and I'll be sure to bring my laptop and use their internet to post on here. I'll do my best to try and start contributing (at least on the Anything Goes forum for now) so we can get some life in here again!
I apologize for the ramble, and I'm not proofreading so I'm sorry if I made no sense. It's good to see yall ARE still around, and that's what is great about this place. There's been little activity, and as all of you can see, there ARE STILL SOME OF US HERE. That should at least give everyone some hope and something to hold on to.

I for one have been trying to answer questions that are being posted about various things, I have just felt alone on here for the past few months. I posted this thread to try and get a response and it looks like it worked. I would love to contribute with news that I find Jason, but I failed english and I suck at sentence structure, I could wwite something, but you and Col would have to go through it and clean it up lol. I work 40+ hours a week and I try to get on every night and at least play a few hours of something online, lately its been 1943. Warcraft has been getting a LOT of my attention latley due to a new guild we formed.

This summer I've literally turned my Xbox on for gaming (aka not to watch a movie) 4 times. It's sad. It's not that I don't want to play massive amounts of games, cause I certainly do, I just don't have the time.
As backwards as it sounds, the fall semester starts soon, I should have plenty more free time then. Plus Halo ODST, MW2 and L4D2!!! This fall is going to be epic for the 360.

I am going to be starting my senior year of college soon, and what little free time I did have will go out the window. Also I just don't have the extra cash to buy games anymore like I once did. The last game I bought was Call of Duty: World at War, and I have yet to beat that game. It sucks because football season is approaching and I would love to get the new Madden, but I doubt I will have the funds to do so. I do get on at least once a week or every other week just to browse, and see what has been posted. I know speaking for me personally it is hard to find the time...
